Thailand stopover!

First stop Bangkok!!! Basically a series of misfortune events meant we never got our Chinese visa before we left home and so had to get it in Bangkok..seemed like an easy enough task but sweet mother of Jesus they're strict on giving out visas in Thailand..we had to queue for seven hours just to hand in forms, when we finally did get served we got screamed at by an angry little Thai woman who then refused our visa..disaster! but we persisted and refused to leave until they gave in, they eventually granted it to us- I think just to get rid of us!! After that ordeal it was straight into a tuk tuk to khao san for cocktails!!!

The visa takes a week to process so we got out of Bangkok and down to the islands..we spent two nights in koh toa, it's beautiful..white sand, crystal clear water and hot hot sun! we went on an adventure on the second day to explore the island and ended up getting completely lost, trekking uphill and across the island for HOURS with no food or water in 30 degrees heat! Not our smartest move..by the time we made it down to the coast we were both in bad states, dehydrated, faint and had shaking legs..thats when the fun began, there was no bay just huge rocks to either side of us with no way of crossing and not a soul to be seen..just when it looked like we'd have to turn around and reclimb the practically vertical slopes to try and find another route to the bay a lone fisherman came to our rescue..he had no English but somehow managed to explain through sign language that our trek was ridiculous..he was in hysterics! But he very kindly dropped us to our port..which took nearly forty mins!!   Suppose it was good practice for our trekking in Nepal!!

It wouldn't be a thailand trip without some kind of moon party so we cruised to koh phanghan for the black moon! think we possibly got a little carried away with the body paint and definitely got carried away with the vodka!!

Our sixteen hour trip back to bangkok was shortened by meeting Tim and Joel our new ozzie friends..we were all in awe of tims flowing locks which he put down to a once a week coconut oil treatment! Definitely gonna stock up that! Back in Bangkok we collected our visas and hopped on the plane to india.. just when we had adjusted to the craziness of Bangkok we were heading to Delhi...apparently a thousand times as busy, dirty and noisy..eek! Watch this space....
